OEGSTGEEST, the Netherlands — February 1, 2016 — Avery Dennison has brought its sustainability vision to life at its new EU headquarters and Research & Development center in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands. The long-term leased building acts as the European hub for the global Avery Dennison (NYSE:AVY) Materials Group business - a leader in labelling, packaging, and graphics solutions. A BREEAM(1) ‘Very Good’ certificate was awarded at a ceremony on December 10, during a celebration for all of the partners involved in the building’s design and construction. The building is located in the BioScience Park in Oegstgeest, which is among the top five science parks in Europe.

Reinach, 13 January 2016 – Archroma, a global leader in color and specialty chemicals, today announced that it has appointed a Sustainability Officer for its Textile Specialties business and released its list of products compliant with the new version 1.1 of its list of Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Manufacturing Restricted Substance List (MRSL) published in December 2015(1).

DSM-Niaga has developed a portfolio of new, proprietary and patent-protected technologies to fully close the loop on carpet materials, allowing them to be ‘alive, again and again’, a real circular economy breakthrough. DSM-Niaga is a joint venture between DSM, a global science based company active in health, nutrition and materials, and Niaga, a Dutch provider of sustainable materials solutions. The Niaga® technology is now commercially available to the industry enabling the elimination of carpet waste, based on well-defined pure materials without compromising quality of the carpet - on the contrary. These materials can be recovered in an economically sound way based on industrial-scale processes and turned into valuable materials that can be reused again to make carpets, and also other products such as automotive textiles.

OEGSTGEEST, the Netherlands — December 8, 2015 — PET is by far the most recycled plastic material in Europe, with the equivalent of over 66 billion bottles recycled in 2014. However, recycling siliconised PET liner is more complex and challenging, and was achieved in Europe only last year, when Avery Dennison reached out to PET UK in Scotland. Such recycling offers converters and brand owners an opportunity to move towards a more circular economy and save costs, whilst reducing environmental impacts and greenhouse gas emissions. In 2014 Brothers Drinks was one of the first brands to join the Avery Dennison recycling scheme run in partnership with PET UK.
