Perstorp acquires OQ Chemicals Nederland B.V.
Leading global specialty chemicals innovator Perstorp, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia’s PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG), today announced Perstorp Holding AB has acquired 100 percent of the shares of OQ Chemicals Nederland B.V. from OQ Chemicals GmbH. The deal provides Sweden-based Perstorp with full ownership and control over all of the Dutch company’s production assets, related technology and employees.

Clariant leads the way in sustainable chemistry with complete PFAS-free additive portfolio
Clariant has completed its transition to a fully per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)-free additive portfolio as of December 2023, reaffirming its commitment to more sustainable and customer-focused innovation. Clariant is expanding its storage capacity in Scandinavia for the use of recycled mono propylene glycol (MPG), used in its aircraft deicing fluids. Two new storage tanks and a truck unloading station have been installed at the company’s Uddevalla facility in Sweden to increase capacity and optimize handling of the product.

Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced that a deoxygenation catalyst from its EnviCat Green series was selected for a major green ammonia project in China. The catalyst will be used to remove trace oxygen from green hydrogen produced at the facility, before conversion into green ammonia. Carbon-free production of ammonia greatly reduces the environmental impact of this valuable base chemical needed for vital applications, such as fertilizer production. Green ammonia is also expected to play a key role in the world’s energy transition, offering versatile applications in transportation, power, and hydrogen supply.
