FIRST USE OF DYNEEMA® FIBER IN OFF-SHORE WINDMILL LIFTING
For the installation of offshore wind farms in the Irish Sea, Mammoet Van Oord, an international marine contractor, selected heavy lifting slings made with super-strong Dyneema® polyethylene fiber from DSM Dyneema. The special round slings, manufactured by the Unitex Group, are designed to lift heavy loads weighing up to several hundreds of tons.

El sistema de administración de anestesia de tecnología punta Aisys® Carestation®, fabricado por GE Healthcare, es una demostración de una sofisticada tecnología en un dispositivo versátil. Es la primera solución de GE para la administración de anestesia que integra un control electrónico del gas y los agentes, además de administración con ventilación avanzada, monitorización de signos vitales y un sistema de respiración avanzado (ABS™). Sin embargo, su éxito en el mercado de productos de sanidad también depende de otros factores prácticos, como su bajo coste y durabilidad. Para alcanzar estos objetivos, GE Healthcare buscó un proveedor de materiales capaz de resolver de forma eficiente los diversos requisitos de la aplicación, como resistencia de las superficies de trabajo, peso ligero para las puertas de cajones y transparencia para el sistema de eliminación de gas.
GE Plastics contaba en su amplio catálogo con varios materiales que cumplen estos requisitos y, a la vez, proporcionó servicios de valor añadido como apoyo para la selección de materiales y desarrollo de aplicaciones.
