CHEMTURA INCREASES PRICES ON BROMINATED FLAME RETARDANTS
MIDDLEBURY, CT – Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) today announced price increases of $0.30/kg on BA-59P (tetrabromobisphenol-a) and up to 15% on its brominated carbonate oligomer and FF680 (bromo-phenoxy ethane), products, effective July 1st 2006. These increases continue the restoration of Chemtura’s Flame Retardants business to reinvestment economics and to capture the full value of elemental bromine. This reinvestment is essential to ensure a reliable supply chain; to fund research into future technology; and to support on-going product advocacy programs.

BERGEN OP ZOOM, PAÍSES BAJOS — 7 de julio de 2006. — Las actuales restricciones de espacio y peso demandan componentes de luces frontales de automóviles de menores dimensiones y líneas más depuradas. Las resinas Lexan XHT aportan una resistencia excelente a la deformación y mudanza de color a altas temperaturas, y superan a muchos de los materiales de la competencia, como los materiales termofijos, en potencial para reciclaje, densidad y características de fluidez. Además, cuando se utilizan en rebordes de faros y reflectores, las nuevas resinas Lexan XHT permiten un metalizado directo, que elimina el coste e impacto ambiental del revestimiento de piezas con pintura o barniz.

Jean Claude Steinmetz Appointed As Rhodia Vice President, Automotive and Transportation Markets

In his new position, he will have the mission to accelerate Rhodia’s development and penetration efforts in both markets. He joined Rhodia in 1999 as President of Rhodia’s Engineering Plastics business, and most recently was Vice President of Rhodia’s Engineering Plastics and Industrial Yarns Strategic Business Unit. These new grades are the first technology deliverables from Rhodia as part of their newly signed global co-marketing and development agreement, where Rhodia will actively develop and commercialize new material technology optimized for the MuCell® process, and where Trexel will work exclusively with Rhodia for polyamide applications. These new resins will be available in industrial quantities during the third quarter of 2006. However, they are available immediately in trial quantities.
