Neue Verbund-, Schaum- und Faserstoffe Ultem* von SABIC Innovative Plastics
Neue Standards mit extrem anspruchsvollen Eigenschaften bieten Kunden hohe Wachstumschancen
CHICAGO – 22. Juni 2009 – SABIC Innovative Plastics bringt heute auf der NPE 2009 mit der Einführung von neuen hochentwickelten Verbund-, Schaum- und Faserstoffen der die Technologie der Produktgruppe Ultem* einen gewaltigen Sprung nach vorne. Diese neuen Produkte wurden spezifisch so entwickelt, dass Kunden dadurch einen noch nie dagewesenen Wettbewerbsvorsprung erhalten: mit innovativen, fortschrittlichen Materiallösungen, die praktisch unbegrenzte Wachstumsmöglichkeiten auf bestehenden, neuen und aufkommenden Märkten schaffen. Die neuen Materialien bauen auf dem in hohem Maße erfolgreichen Ultem-Polyetherimid (PEI) auf, einem branchenweit anerkannten thermoplastischen Kunststoff, den Kunden für seine jahrelang zuverlässigen, extrem hohen Leistungseigenschaften für anspruchsvollste Anwendungen schätzen, insbesondere wo hohe Temperaturbeständigkeit verlangt wird. SABIC Innovative Plastics stellt die neuen Ultem-Werkstoffe hier auf dem Stand W123011 aus.

DER ARNITEL® TPC VORTEIL FÜR VAKUUMBREMSSCHLÄUCHE IM NEUEN FORD FIESTA
Ford hat sich bei der Fertigung von Vakuumbremsschläuchen für den jüngst auf den Markt gebrachten, neuen Ford Fiesta für Arnitel® entschieden, einen thermoplastischen Copolyester (TPC) von DSM Engineering. Damit nutzt der Hersteller die bewährten Vorteile von Arnitel® auch in dieser spezifischen Anwendung. Arnitel® wird von Ford bereits in mehreren ähnlichen Fällen in den Modellen Ford Mondeo, Ford S-Max, Ford C-Max, Ford Galaxy und Ford Focus eingesetzt.

DSM DYNEEMA LAUNCHES DYNEEMA® HB80 UD MATERIAL PROVIDING HIGHEST PROTECTION AT LIGHTEST WEIGHT IN ARMOR APPLICATIONS
McLEAN (VA), June 25, 2009 - DSM Dyneema today introduced Dyneema® HB80, a unidirectional (UD) composite that meets the joint US Army and Marine challenge to increase the fragmentation performance by at least 35 percent of advanced combat helmets. Dyneema® HB80 also has the potential to provide law enforcement SWAT units with helmets offering existing protection at half the current weight. It is the latest product in an expanding series of materials being developed by DSM Dyneema to substantially lighten the load for soldiers and law enforcement.

DSM DYNEEMA INTRODUCES DYNEEMA® BT10 – FIRST IN NEW RANGE OF BALLISTIC TAPE PRODUCTS FOR USE IN LIGHTWEIGHT, HIGH PROTECTION VEHICLE ARMOR
URMOND (NL), June 24, 2009 - DSM Dyneema today launched Dyneema® BT10, its first commercially available product made from a novel, proprietary ballistic tape (BT) technology. The announcement was made jointly at the DVD exhibition, (Millbrook, UK), with Ten Cate Advanced Armour, who has selected Dyneema® BT10 for armor upgrading on the Patria XA-188 APC commissioned by the Dutch DMO (Defensie Materieel Organisatie). The vehicles will be used by the Dutch military forces stationed in Afghanistan and delivery is expected to be completed by October 2009.
