GE Plastics installiert Twin-Sheet-Thermoformmaschine im Global Application Technology (GApT)-Zentrum in Bergen op Zoom, Niederlande
BERGEN OP ZOOM, NIEDERLANDE – 16. Mai 2006 – GE Plastics setzt seine Investitionen in die Global Application Technology (GApT) in Europa fort. Dafür steht u. a. die Installation einer Twin-Sheet-Thermoformmaschine mit Hochdruck-Hydraulikform-Funktion, deren Inbetriebnahme für April 2006 geplant ist. Eine zweite Investition besteht aus einer 1600 Tonnen schweren 2K-Spritzgussmaschine, die im vierten Quartal im GE Centre of Excellence in Bergen op Zoom in den Niederlanden ihren Betrieb aufnehmen soll.

WABASH TRANSMISSION SENSOR RELIES ON STANYL® FOR HIGH HEAT RESISTANCE
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (April 10, 2006) Wabash Technologies selected Stanyl® for the transmission sensor used on heavy-duty full size and commercial trucks. Stanyl TW200F8 (40% glass reinforced polyamide 46) is used for the main body of the sensor and Stanyl TW271F6 (30% glass reinforced polyamide 46) is used for the rotor.

Competitive Intelligence In Action
The European Chemical Marketing & Strategy Association (ECMSA), EMP Intelligence Services and CIBT are joining forces in May to present a management briefing and workshop in Amsterdam on the changed European competitive intelligence scene. The briefing and workshop mirrors a successful event held in Birmingham, the UK, in September 2005. They are designed to help participants understand in greater detail the complex competitive background to the European chemical industry that involves regional players, global integrators and competitors from emerging markets. Chemical companies are often competing for share in markets in which growth is low or negligible and in which accurate competitive intelligence is vitally important.

Univar Purchases Spanish Chemical Distributor
Rotterdam, The Netherlands – April 7, 2006 – Univar N.V. (Euronext Amsterdam: UNIVR), a world leader in chemical distribution, today announced that its Univar Europe business unit has acquired 100% of the stock of JSM Chemicals S.A., based near Valencia, Spain. The acquisition was completed on April 6, 2006. For the calendar year 2005, JSM recorded net sales of approximately EUR 13 million.

Toledo, OHIO, U.S.A. February 28, 2006 – Owens Corning (OWENQ.OB) announced at the European Wind Energy Conference and Exhibition in Athens, Greece, a breakthrough single-end roving and knitted fabric, WindStrand™, which will allow the wind energy market to take another step forward in competing successfully against other alternative energy sources by reducing the cost per kilowatt-hour (kwh.) The product will allow turbine manufacturers to increase blade lengths by as much as six percent and deliver up to 12 percent more power -- for up to 20 percent less cost than any competing carbon-glass hybrid solution currently on the market.
