Land Rover LRX Concepts Premiere in Geneva with Lexan* High-tech Plastic Glazing from SABIC Innovative Plastics
MANNHEIM, Germany – March 4, 2008 – At the 78th Geneva International Motor Show today, Land Rover unveils its vision of the Land Rover future with the Geneva premiere of two versions of their Land Rover LRX concept car that debuted earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show. The new three-door premium cross-coupé prototype is introduced in two different versions here. The first of the two concepts was made to showcase the latest in design technologies, with one of its highlights including the unique panoramic roof and side and rear windows, made from SABIC Innovative Plastics’ Lexan GLX* high-performance plastic glazing with exclusive Exatec coating technology. In the second version of the car, only the side and rear windows feature the Lexan* plastic glazing with Exatec coating technology.

Hyundai and SABIC Innovative Plastics Honored with iF Product Design Award 2008 for QarmaQ Advanced Technology Demonstration Vehicle
HANNOVER, Germany – March 3, 2008 – The Hyundai QarmaQ Advanced Technology Demonstration Vehicle (ATDV) has been selected as a winner of the International Forum (iF) Product Design Awards 2008 for Advanced Studies, which honors experimental drafts of products and studies that have not yet been implemented. Hyundai Motor Europe and SABIC Innovative Plastics, co-developers of the QarmaQ, jointly won the award, which is being presented today at the Hannover, Germany Exhibition Grounds. For 54 years, the iF design award has served as an internationally recognized trademark for outstanding design. SABIC Innovative Plastics expanded its LNP* Faradex* Compounds to Boost EMI/RFI Shielding of Electronics
BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands – February 15, 2008 – SABIC Innovative Plastics today announced the expansion of its LNP* Faradex* family of specialty compounds to help electronics manufacturers achieve lighter-weight, thinner-wall housings with enhanced shielding capability. SABIC Innovative Plastics’ new LNP Faradex compounds can deliver better electromagnetic interference/radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) shielding performance without increasing their loading of stainless steel fibers, thereby keeping costs and part weight down. Proprietary filler technology not only improves inherent shielding capability of existing loadings, but also increases modulus to enable strong and durable thin-wall parts. Car Design News Contest 2008 is World’s First International Digital Car Design Competition
LONDON – Dec. 13, 2007 – Car Design News today announced the largest all-digital car design contest in the world, in association with SABIC Innovative Plastics and powered by Autodesk. Car Design News Contest 2008 will be judged by senior auto design directors from major automotive manufacturers, including Martin Smith, executive vice president of design at Ford Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa, and Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president and head of design at Nissan. This contest is unique as all designs will be created as virtual computer models. There are two contest categories – professional designer and student designer – with top prizes that include cash and a software license for Alias DesignStudio software.
