NatureWorks LLC annuncia un programma nordamericano di
NatureWorks LCC ha annunciato oggi alla Convention Nazionale per il Riciclaggio (National Recycling Convention) a Minneapolis, Minnesota, i piani per istituire un programma "buy-back" di grande portata nel Nord America, per le bottiglie post-consumo in PLA che finiscono nel riciclo dei rifiuti di materie plastiche miste. Il programma fornisce una ulteriore opzione distinta da quella del conferimento in discarica per il PLA NatureWorks basato sul grano; un materiale che offre già, tra tutte le materie plastiche, le scelte più diversificate nello smaltimento.

GE’s ecomagination* Initiative and Lexan* ZigZag* Sheet Roofing Help the Dutch Greenhouse Industry Move Toward Energy Independence
BERGEN OP ZOOM, THE NETHERLANDS — November 15, 2005 — To support a strategic shift away from consuming large amounts of fossil fuel, the greenhouse industry in the Netherlands is turning to GE’s ecomagination* initiative for innovative environmental solutions. Using GE’s new Lexan* ZigZag* sheet polycarbonate (PC) roofing material, Hydro Huisman, a leading hydroculture company in Huissen, is constructing the first greenhouse that will produce more energy than it uses. Lexan ZigZag sheet double-wall roofing panels provide higher light transmission than single glass, and insulation similar to multiwall glass or PC sheet. These energy-efficient properties will enable approximately two-thirds of the heat generated in the greenhouse to be sold as surplus.
