SABIC to showcase pioneering LEXAN™ DLCW light diffusing technology at International Sign Expo

Under the banner of “Chemistry that Matters™,” SABIC will exhibit at NPE 2018 (booth #S19001) with the theme: “What Matters to You?” – representing the company’s ongoing commitment to listen closely to its customers, share ideas and expertise, and work together to achieve new levels of performance. In the form of a question, the theme recognizes that ideas and innovative solutions take shape from a deep understanding of customers’ key needs and challenges.
At this spring’s Hispack 2018 trade fair in Spain, Milliken Chemical will be showcasing containers of NX™ UltraClear polypropylene made using its Millad® NX 8000 clarifier, and highlighting why that material is the preferred solution for packaging.
Milliken & Company will feature its extensive portfolio of additive technologies for improving the clarity, performance and processing of polyolefins at NPE 2018 in booth #S26023. The company will also launch two new products: a unique performance modifier for injection-molded polypropylene (PP) impact copolymers (ICPs), and the latest technology in its Hyperform® HPN family of nucleating agents, which is specifically designed to maximize stiffness in PP ICPs. Both of these novel technologies will significantly change the way PP ICPs perform, particularly regarding impact strength, stiffness and melt flow. Further, by improving the physical properties of post-consumer recycled resins, the new performance modifier allows converters to take greater advantage of their cost and sustainability benefits.
EconCore is extending the capabilities of its innovative ThermHex technology for production of high-performance lightweight thermoplastic honeycomb core materials and sandwich panels. The company, which already licenses the technology for production of polypropylene honeycombs, is now able to produce honeycombs from high performance thermoplastics (HPT). A further development enables the integrated production of Organosandwich preforms with continuous fibre-reinforced skins.
EconCore’s continuous process for producing high performance lightweight thermoplastic honeycomb cores for composites is set to be a crowd-puller at JEC World 2018 in Paris on March 6 to 8. Its ThermHex process meets the growing need for replacing complex, heavy and expensive parts in highly demanding applications across industries. On Stand R73 in Hall 6, EconCore will present results of new development and tests on honeycombs made in modified polycarbonates, polyamide 66 and polyphenylene sulfide. The work is being carried out in its newly refurbished R&D facilities in Leuven, Belgium.
