Perstorp says “it’s time to act!” We are all responsible for the plastics we consume
Perstorp - November 29, 2016 - One million plastic bags are used every minute throughout the year, globally1. Many of them end up in our nature and stay there. A large proportion of the plastics are items with a short lifetime. On average, each plastic bag has a “working life” of just 15 minutes2. When waste management fails, these bags, along with other forms of plastic packaging, end up in our environment and in most cases that is where they will remain. By using biodegradable and certified plastics they will not stay there forever.

Milliken’s focus at Arabplast 2017 is ‘Making Polypropylene Clearer, Better, Faster. Together’
Ghent, Belgium – On Stand 6C155 during the Jan. 8-10 show at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the UAE, Milliken will focus on the advantages of using its technology-leading clarifiers and nucleators to improve PP resins, and demonstrate how its UV absorber can improve key properties in PET packaging.
Parijs, Amsterdam, 24 november 2016 - Total en Corbion maken bekend dat zij hun krachten bundelen met het oog op de ontwikkeling van bioplastics. Daartoe richten de beide partners een 50/50 joint venture op voor de productie en marketing van PLA (polymelkzuur). Total en Corbion zullen een grootschalige PLA-polymerisatiefabriek bouwen met een capaciteit van 75.000 ton per jaar op de locatie van Corbion in Thailand. Op deze locatie bevindt zich al een productie-eenheid voor lactide (PLA-monomeer), die onderdeel zal worden van de joint venture. Corbion levert het melkzuur dat noodzakelijk is voor de productie van PLA en lactide. 
Sittard, The Netherlands, November 16, 2016 - SABIC will have a new pilot plant for development of next-generation polypropylenes on-stream in Sittard-Geleen, the Netherlands, by the end of March next year. The plant, which will use gas-phase polymerization technology, will support the production at nearby full-scale plants of superior materials that meet the needs of the different industries like automotive, pipe, appliances and advanced packaging. 
Ghent, Belgium – Leading French packaging thermoformer CGL Pack will showcase at the upcoming Emballage 2016 exhibition -- now known as All4Pack Paris -- thermoformed food trays and containers made of polypropylene clarified with Milliken & Co.’s Millad® NX™ 8000 additive.
