DSM introduces high performance polyamides for improved reliability and safety in next-generation USB
Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Material Sciences company, says its high-performance polyamides, Stanyl® and Stanyl® ForTii™, have been approved by global producers for use in the next generation of USB Type-C connectors. DSM’s materials answer the need for improved levels of safety and reliability. The company highlighted its various solutions for mobile devices at Chinaplas 2015 in Guangzhou on May 20-23.

DSM and NHU form joint venture to add PPS compounds to DSM’s global portfolio of high performance engineering plastics
Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Material Sciences company, and NHU announce the formation of a new joint venture company for the market development and manufacturing of high performance plastics compounds based on polyphenylene sulphide, PPS. The compounds will further enhance DSM’s offering in the high performance engineering plastics space, adding to its leadership positions with Stanyl® polyamide 46 and Stanyl® ForTii™ polyamide 4T. All sales at the joint venture, including those in China, will be handled by DSM’s Marketing and Sales organization with the brand name of Xytron™ PPS.
Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Material Sciences company, and Ascend Performance Materials Inc., the premium provider of high-quality chemicals, fibers and plastics, announce that they have formed a global strategic alliance for the supply of compounds based on polyamide 66 (PA66). Under the agreement, Ascend becomes the strategic supplier to DSM for PA66 base-polymer used as raw material for Akulon® PA66 compounds for engineering plastics applications. In addition, DSM will distribute Ascend's portfolio of PA66 compounds sold under the brand name Vydyne®.
