DSM INVESTS IN WIND PROPULSION COMPANY SKYSAILS
Netherlands, 26 January 2011 - DSM Venturing, the corporate venturing unit of Royal DSM N.V., announced today that it has made an investment in Germany-based SkySails GmbH & Co. KG (SkySails), the market and technology leader for automated towing kite systems for ships. Royal DSM N.V., the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company headquartered in the Netherlands, and KuibyshevAzot OJSC (KA) today announce a strategic cooperation. As a result of this strategic cooperation, DSM Engineering Plastics will enter into two joint ventures with KA. In both joint ventures DSM Engineering Plastics will hold a majority share. In addition, KA will be granted a license under DSM Fibre Intermediates’ technology for the production of cyclohexanone.

Hyperform® HPN-20E, currently the most efficient PE nucleation agent available globally enables higher peak crystallization temperatures that can cut cycle times and drive productivity improvements of 10 to 20 percent (depending upon processing and resin design). It can also increase oxygen and water vapor barrier performance between 20 to 40 percent (depending upon processing and resin design) providing the possibility of extended shelf life of perishable contents such as dry foods, dairy products, vitamins and nutraceuticals. Hyperform HPN-20E and other upcoming Milliken nucleation solutions support sustainability by enabling broader use of PE, an easily recycled plastic, in diverse packaging applications.
