Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) announce a 15% increase on the selling price of their tin stabilizer range in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, effective 1st April 2007 or as contract terms permit. The increase, valid for all pack sizes, is driven by unexpected tight tin metal product supply and the dramatic increase in tin-metal costs over the last 12 months, and in particular over the last two months.

During 2006, the German standards for polypropylene (PP) pressure pipes have been revised. The designations PP-H100, PP-B80 and PP-R80 have been withdrawn as they did not reflect the required behaviour at elevated temperatures and were changed to PP-H, PP-B and PP-R. Also, pioneering PP-RCT has now been officially recognised as a category under the new German standards DIN8077 and DIN8078 for PP pressure pipes. The creation of a new PP-RCT class means that these solutions can now be tested according to a widely accepted quality standard.

Milliken & Company today announced that the Düsseldorf (Germany) Regional Court has issued a provisional pan-European injunction against Korea’s Fountain Trading Company for infringement of Milliken’s Millad® and Millad 3988 trademarks. According to the injunction, Fountain Trading is prohibited from using the designation Millard and/or Millard 3988 for the characterization of polymer additives, and from producing, offering, advertising, selling, or marketing these goods.
