Middlebury, CT -- Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) has announced an agreement with Hakuto Co., Ltd. (Shinjuku, Tokyo Japan) to work jointly in the areas of polymerization inhibitors for Styrene Monomer refining processes. These inhibitors, Hakutol PC Series developed by Hakuto, have demonstrated superior performance with dinitro-type polymerization inhibitors such as DNBP.

MIDDLEBURY, CT -- Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) will increase the price of its sulfonate detergent and emulsifier product lines, due to rising raw materials costs. This global increase of $0.04/lb on its LoBase, HyBase, Petronate, Surchem, and Calcinate product lines will be effective on shipments on or after October 1, 2006, or as contracts allow.

Royal DSM N.V. today announces that it has decided to construct two new manufacturing facilities at its Chemelot site in Geleen, the Netherlands. DSM is making these investments in response to excellent market growth for two of the company’s top specialty products, Stanyl® polyamide 46 and Stamylan® UH ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, which is used among other things as a raw material for Dyneema® high strength fibers. The new Stanyl® plant and the new Stamylan® facility, which will each double existing production capacity, are scheduled to come on line in 2008. The total investment will be around EUR 100 million.

Building on the success of their joint workshop and training programmes launched in 2005, to deliver technical training in plastic technology to industry participants, Distrupol and Engel have announced they will host a new series of training courses commencing in October 2006. The programme will be conducted under the banner of the ENGEL Moulders’ Group and held at their UK headquarters’ in Warwick. As before, the courses are open to the industry at large and will be ‘free-of-charge’.
