DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS INCREASES AKULON PRICES
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (February 2, 2006) In an effort to offset the escalating cost of raw materials, energy and transportation, DSM Engineering Plastics will increase prices for Akulon® polyamide 6 extrusion grades by $0.06 lb. in the US, Canada and Mexico. This increase will take effect as of January 15, 2006.

Borouge will be putting its high performance polyolefin business on show at Chinaplas, Asia’s largest international exhibition for the plastics & rubber Industries, in Shanghai from 26 to 29 April 2006. The importance of reliable infrastructure in the supply and distribution of essential goods such as water and gas took centre stage at a workshop for the Italian pipe industry organised by Borealis in Genoa, Italy on February 3, 2006. In many European countries water loss due to leakage in the distribution network remains a significant problem. In the last few years the rate of loss has risen from 10 to 35 percent of the total volume of distributed water, the European Environment Agency reports.
