Clariant inaugurates new Polypropylene Catalyst Plant in Louisville, USA
Muttenz, October 18, 2016 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, today announced the official opening of its new polypropylene (PP) catalyst production facility in Louisville, KY, USA. The new plant, developed and implemented in cooperation with CB&I, makes the Louisville site Clariant’s largest US production hub for catalysts and marks a further investment by Clariant to accelerate growth in North America.

After closing, the agreed purchases of Kel-Tech Inc. and X-Chem LLC add approx. USD 200 million of sales, as well as personnel, technology and expertise to its existing activities in North America and accelerates the growth of its Business Unit Oil & Mining Services (OMS) as a leading provider of oilfield production chemicals in North America.
Ghent, Belgium – SiVance, LLC, a subsidiary of Milliken & Company, today introduced SiVance® C2010 resin, a new reactive silicone technology designed to create highly durable epoxy-silicone hybrid coating formulations. Specifically, this unique, high-performance material helps extend the flexibility and impact resistance of protective coatings used in harsh operating environments such as undersea drilling, hydraulic fracturing and chemical manufacturing. Compared to coatings made with competitive products, hybrid formulations featuring SiVance C2010 resin enable formulators to help their customers avoid the cracking, delamination and blistering that lead to corrosion and failure of metal pipes, tanks and equipment.
