Clariant ShiftMax® 820S pre-sulfided Sour Gas Shift catalyst: Successful commercial launch in China
Munich, October 8, 2015 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, today announced the successful start-up and operation of its pre-sulfided ShiftMax® 820S Sour Gas Shift (SGS) catalyst at a commercial methanol production facility of Shanghai Huayi Energy Chemical Co. Ltd. The achievement is of particular significance as it is the first industrial application of the newly introduced ShiftMax 820S catalyst in China.

Clariant wins the 100th global reference for its AmoMax®-10 catalyst

The innovative AmoMax-10 is a highly active catalyst, capable of substantial energy savings in the ammonia production process. With its proven market success both locally in the US as well as globally, Clariant has built a solid reputation as a leading supplier of catalysts for ammonia synthesis. An award ceremony was held on August 26th in San Francisco at Clariant’s renowned “Defining the Future” conference.
Munich, August 26, 2015 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announced today a new development in controlling harmful nitrous oxide (N₂O) emissions. Nitrous oxide emissions are harmful in two ways: they exacerbate the greenhouse effect and damage the ozone layer. At present, nitrous oxide is destroying the ozone layer more aggressively than any other substance. The new ENVICAT® N₂O-S has been proven particularly effective in the decomposition of N₂O in secondary nitric acid installations or high N₂O containing gas streams such as from adipic acid production.
