Clariant's breakthrough HGM concept for Propane dehydrogenation Unit - a proven success in China

Munich, March 18, 2015 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announced today that its Heat Generating Material (HGM) for the Catofin® process demonstrated excellent performance at the propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant of Ningbo Haiyue New Material Co. Limited in Ningbo City, China. The plant produces 600,000 MTA of propylene using the CB&I Catofin catalytic dehydrogenation process, based on Clariant's Catofin catalyst.

Clariant Oil Services to make significant technical contributions at the 2015 NACE CORROSION Conference

Clariant acquires remaining shares of Companhia Brasileira de Bentonita

Muttenz, January 12, 2015 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, signed an agreement to acquire the remaining 50% shares of Companhia Brasileira de Bentonita (CBB) from Geosol, a world leader in analytical services for mineral exploration. The transaction is subject to certain conditions precedent, as well as regulatory approvals. The agreement enables Clariant to take full ownership of a Bentonit mine and a state-of-the-art production facility, employing 101 employees and located in Vitória da Conquista in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Financial details of the acquisition are not being disclosed.

Clariant Business Unit Reduces Carbon Footprint in its Supply Chain by 65 Percent

Charlotte, November 20, 2014 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announced today that a supply chain optimization effort instituted as part of the Clariant worldwide sustainability program has reduced by more than 60 percent the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions produced when shipping one raw material for its Oil Services operations.
