URMOND (NL), 14 October 2010 - DSM Dyneema is expanding its already strong portfolio of products based on Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber™, with the first in a new series of vest grades of uni-directional (UD) material. Dyneema® SB51, which the company believes will create a step-change in the protection achievable with Soft Ballistic (SB) armor, has been developed for use in ballistic vests that combine minimum weight with high protection performance against handgun ammunition, fragments and knives.

DSM DYNEEMA AWARDED DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT FOR IMPROVED COMBAT HELMET
STANLEY, NC (US), 4 October 2010 - DSM Dyneema has been awarded the contract for the development of new UHMWPE based Dyneema® material solutions for the next generation improved combat helmet, DSM Dyneema has been focusing on research and development of new series of materials to substantially lighten the load for military and law enforcement.
Quadrant is expanding design and performance possibilities for machined parts in high temperature applications with the launch of Duratron® D7000 PI polyimides and modified PEEK Semitron® MP370. The new materials provide cost-effective solutions to the performance gaps currently facing machine designers and engineers.
