工業巨擘發力中國市場 PPG創新理念撲面而來

PPG Industries 12月11日，世界領先化工巨頭PPG工業集團在三亞召開了以“發展、領導、創新”為主題的理念分享論壇。國家發展和改革委員會代表、媒體代表與會出席，PPG亞太區總裁Viktor R. Sekmakas先生、中國區副總裁延彩明女士、亞太區七大產品事業部總經理等亞太高層領導團隊悉數到場，與現場嘉賓共同分享PPG的企業發展理念，探討中國工業的發展方向。據悉，這是PPG落戶中國以來，首次如此大規模地開展以解析企業發展為內容的高峰論壇。

PPG Plans to Restructure Wigan Glass Fiber Facility to Better Meet European Market Needs

(Shanghai China -- 10th November 2006)Monday, October 30, 2006, PPG Industries Wigan, England, fiber glass plant is proposing to transform its manufacturing processes and work force to direct its focus on the European market for single-end, direct-draw rovings. The proposed restructuring involves significant streamlining of the facility’s manufacturing processes at the site and, at the same time, a reduction of approximately 100 jobs by the end of March, 2007. The transformation’s objective is to enable the Wigan facility to be more competitive in select European markets, according to Steve Verdin, Wigan plant manager.

PPG Purchases Land in Tianjin and Expands Production

PPG Industries (Oct. 23, 2006, Tianjin, China)Oct. 23 2006, TEDA government and PPG Coatings (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. Signs Land Transfer Contract, and PPG bought the 60,000 m2 of land adjacent to its Tianjin plant. Relevant Tianjin and TEDA Government Officials, including Mr. Pi Qian Sheng, Mr. Ni Xiang Yu and directors of TEDA Construction Bureau, Economic Development Bureau, Trade Development Bureau, Environmental Protection Bureau, Tax Bureau and Human Resources Bureau will be present at the ceremony. Vice President and Managing Director of PPG Asia Pacific, coatings business, Mr. Viktor R. Sekmakas, PPG China Vice President Ms. Cathy Yan and other senior management of PPG shall be at the signing ceremony. The newly purchased land shall be used for expanding the production capacity of automotive coatings, industrial coatings, and also for new investment plans.
