Shanghai, January 8, 2008 – Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH), the leading supplier of binders and additives for the global paint and coatings industry, today officially launched the initial operations of its new manufacturing plant in Sanshui, Guangdong Province, China. To date, the company has invested approximately US$10 million in this site, which will make products based on acrylic emulsion technology. This is a significant milestone for Rohm and Haas’ strategic footprint in China and further demonstrates the company’s commitment to the South China coatings market.

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 2, 2008 – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) today announced that it had completed the acquisition of SigmaKalon Group, a worldwide coatings producer based in Uithoorn, Netherlands, from global private investment firm Bain Capital. The total transaction value, including assumed debt, was approximately €2.2 billion (US$3.2 billion). The company expects to add approximately $3 billion in sales annually as a result of the acquisition.

SHANGHAI, CHINA, December 7, 2007 - Rohm and Haas’s (NYSE: ROH) Packaging and Building Materials business today announced a price increase for all products sold in the Asia-Pacific Region to the adhesives, plastic additives, textiles, non-woven, graphic arts, paper and leather industries. The increase of 10% for all tin-based heat stabilizers, and between 5-10% for all other products including acrylics and modified acrylics, styrenics and modified styrenics, polyurethanes, polyesters and complementary technologies, will take effect from January 1, 2008 or as contracts allow.
