East Aurora, NY, USA, January 19, 2015 - The Composite Material Laboratory at the Inholland University of Applied Sciences in Delft has selected a Moog Portable Test Controller to be used for single-axis testing of composite materials such as fiber-reinforced polymers. This lab is used for research, education and commercial projects related to testing composite materials.

Muttenz, January 16, 2015 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, has announced today that its Business Unit Industrial & Consumer Specialties (BU ICS) has completed the acquisition of the de-icing specialist Aerochem AB, a privately-owned company based in Stockholm, Sweden. Centrally located within the Nordic region Aerochem has a leading market position in supplying de-icing fluids to the aviation and railway industries in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The company reported average sales of CHF 20 Mio at accretive profitability for Clariant. Financial details of the acquisition are not being disclosed.

This radical innovation platform delivers game-changing materials for soft body armor and hard materials for helmets, vest inserts and vehicle armor. Armor made with Dyneema® Force Multiplier Technology is 30 percent lighter than current armor whilst providing the same level of ballistic protection.

Dresden, Germany - 27 November 2014 - DSM Dyneema announced today that it has won three ITMA Future Materials awards based on its breakthrough Dyneema® Force Multiplier Technology platform. Future Materials honored DSM Dyneema, the manufacturer of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMwPE) fiber, branded as Dyneema®, and a world leader in life protection materials and high-performance fibers, with awards for Best Innovation – Industrial Textiles; Most Innovative Large Company; and Launch of the Year. The awards were presented to DSM Dyneema’s Yvonne Engelen, vice president marketing and sales, and Shitij Chabba, global segment director life protection, at an awards ceremony in Dresden, Germany, on Nov. 26.
