Belden demonstrates solutions for improved passenger safety, comfort and security
At InnoTrans 2010, to be held from 21 until 24 September 2010 in Berlin, Belden will demonstrate a range of seamless signal transmission solutions for mass transport systems. These include solutions for passenger safety and comfort, security of rolling stock, terminals and infrastructure, and the efficient flow of traffic through real-time information and control in challenging environments.

Belden to Demonstrate Wind Farm Management Solutions at Husum Wind Energy 2010
At Husum Wind Energy 2010, to be held from 21 until 25 September 2010, Belden will showcase its world-class networking, cabling and connectivity solutions for effective wind energy management in Hall 1 at Stand 1F03.
Belden has introduced a new Layer 3 software that makes it possible to use all Gigabit Ethernet switches Hirschmann™ MACH1040 family as routers. Using wire-speed technology makes for extremely fast functions, which include not only static and dynamic routing, but also multicast routing (DVMRP, IGMPv1/v2/v3, PIM-DM) and router redundancy (VRRP, OSPFv2, RIPv1/v2).
Belden® is to introduce a pan-European customer newsletter to highlight the benefits and demonstrate the added value of its broad range of signal transmission solutions. Belden 360° is an electronic newsletter for professionals in a number of key markets, currently served by Belden and its product brands Hirschmann™, Lumberg Automation™ and Trapeze Networks™.
Belden has extended its range of Hirschmann™ products to include the new WLAN Access Point BAT54-Rail Single. This device is designed for mounting on a top-hat rail and can be used both as Access Point and Access Client. Unlike the BAT54-Rail, this new Access Point has only one WLAN interface, making it a cost-effective alternative for applications that do not require a second interface. In common with its ‘elder brother’, however, the BAT54-Rail Single offers the full range of functions supported by the powerful HiLCOS operating system.
With the new Hirschmann™ BAT300 FX2, Belden is marketing the world’s first ATEX-certificated WLAN Access Point with support for the new IEEE 802.11n transmission standard. This enables WLAN networks with data rates up to 300 Mbit/s to be installed even in hazardous areas rated Ex zone 2. The integrated MIMO antenna technology (multiple input multiple output) ensures a stable wireless connection. Other features of these Access Points include extensive management, security and quality of service functions plus layer 3 IP routing.
