SABIC’s new, breakthrough LNP™ COLORCOMP™ compound uses nanotechnology to enable differentiated foams
SABIC today introduced LNP™ COLORCOMP™ WQ117945 compound, a breakthrough material based on advanced nanotechnology that facilitates efficient production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) foams for core materials in sandwich structures. This new compound improves control over nucleation and cell growth, resulting in decreased cell size and uniform, narrower cell size distribution. These attributes can reduce the foam’s weight by minimizing resin uptake in sandwich structures. It can also potentially improve shear strength/strain properties for better fatigue performance. Enhancing PET foams with SABIC’s new LNP COLORCOMP compound can address the evolving needs of multiple industries, including marine, building and construction, packaging and wind energy.

DSM et Clariter s’associent pour concevoir une solution de recyclage chimique des produits finaux à base de Dyneema®
Royal DSM, une société scientifique internationale spécialisée dans la nutrition, la santé et la durabilité, et Clariter, entreprise internationale de cleantech, ont annoncé ce jour un partenariat stratégique. L’objectif est de concevoir une solution de recyclage chimique nouvelle génération pour les produits dérivés de la Dyneema® de DSM, une fibre polyéthylène à très haut module (UHMWPE). Cette collaboration se révèle prometteuse : toute une gamme d’échantillons (y compris des cordages, des filets et des matériaux de protection balistique à base de Dyneema®) a d’ores et déjà été revalorisée au sein de l’usine pilote de Clariter en Pologne. Ce succès démontre le potentiel de recyclabilité de la Dyneema® et souligne l’engagement actif de DSM Protective Materials à offrir un monde plus durable.
