Milliken Expands Colorants Portfolio for Global Thermoset Plastics Industry
Gent, Belgium – 26 October, 2009 – Milliken & Company, through a subsidiary, today announced the acquisition of the assets of Rebus, Inc., a leading North American provider of pigment and additive dispersions for the thermoset plastics and high-performance industrial coatings markets. The acquisition will enable Milliken, a major supplier of high technology content colorants and additives to the global plastics and household care industries, to broaden its portfolio and offer customers a convenient source for differentiated colorants. In particular, the move will allow thermoset and coatings manufacturers in fast-growing markets such as Asia-Pacific to leverage Milliken’s global presence, technological expertise and supply chain efficiencies.

DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS INTRODUCES INNOVATIVE ARNITE PET XL GRADE FOR NEW XENON AFX MODULE IN DAIMLER S-CLASS
DSM has developed a new Arnite Low Outgassing PET XL Grade to specifically meet the needs of Adaptive Forward (AFX) Modules. The new material has been applied successfully in the production of a new Xenon AFX module for the new Mercedes S- Class, integrating additional features like Automatic High Beam Adjustment.

La résine Noryl* flexible et écologique de SABIC Innovative Plastics est parée pour le succès avec des propriétés hautes performances pour les applications AWM de LTK
BERGEN OP ZOOM, Pays-Bas – 23 octobre 2009 – SABIC Innovative Plastics a annoncé que LTK Industries, fournisseur de câbles basé à Hong Kong et client de longue date, favorise l’utilisation de la résine Noryl* flexible et éco-progressiste de SABIC Innovative Plastics dans les applications de matériaux de câblage des appareils (AWM) utilisées dans l’électronique de grande consommation. La résine ignifugé sophistiquée a passee l’essai stricte à la flamme du laboratoire Underwriters Laboratories (UL) VW-1, et aide les fabricants tels que LTK à répondre aux exigences mondiales difficiles en matière de pièces sans halogène tout en assurant un équilibre presque parfait de propriétés hautes performances exceptionnelles. En passant du polychlorure de vinyle (PVC) – qui peut dégager des toxines dangereuses lorsqu’il est brûlé – à la résine Flexible Noryl, LTK a encore renforcé sa position de fournisseur mondial numéro un dans le domaine des solutions de câblage.

ABN-AMRO Bank and WarmCO2 sign a ‘green’ financing agreement of € 25 million
Terneuzen/Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 21 October 2009 – ABN AMRO Bank and WarmCO2, a joint initiative of port authority Zeeland Seaports, fertilizer producer Yara and infrastructure supplier Visser & Smit Hanab, have signed a ‘green’ financing agreement of € 25 million, as part of an overall financial investment of € 80 million. WarmCO2 is the first large scale sustainable energy project in the Netherlands to receive this ‘green’ financing.
