Worldwide climate protection targets based on recognized SBTi standards have been published

The new Recycling Content TPE for Automotive series has been designed to fulfil a variety of technical applications. Here, KRAIBURG TPE is also pleased to announce an agreement with Tessi Supply, which will use the grades to produce inlay cases and floor mats.

To provide manufacturers with maximally precise data, KRAIBURG TPE has been using a contactless optical measuring device since August 2023, which enables distance measurements required to determine shrinkage values in accordance with DIN EN ISO 294-4.

Customers now have access to various compounds with significantly higher recycled content from post-industry and/or post-consumer waste streams across the entire hardness range, i.e. also in the low ShA range. The new compounds also provide adhesion options to PA, PC/ABS or PP. The TPE manufacturer from Waldkraiburg, Germany, is thus responding to the growing demand and is supplying ready-to-use solutions.

These innovative products already meet the stricter evaluation criteria for plastics and other organic materials in contact with drinking water established by the German Environment Agency (KTW-BWGL standard), which will become binding for TPEs from March 2025. The compounds are characterized by easy processability and provide tubes and hoses with extremely smooth surfaces, considerably improved mechanical properties and excellent kink resistance. The new compounds will be presented at Fakuma 2023.

These outstanding compounds are intended to be used for seals, sealings and components such as showerheads and meet all relevant requirements in the European Union for final products that come into contact with cold water, warm water and, for the first time, hot water.
