Innovative Sanitized® BroadTect product durably protects polymers against a wide range of microorganisms

Innovative Sanitized® BroadTect product durably protects polymers against a wide range of microorganisms. (Photos: SANITIZED AG, PR035) Polymers can be protected against all relevant microorganisms with just a single antimicrobial product: Protection against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, mold and mildew, yeasts, and even algae. This newly developed product by SANITIZED AG has high temperature resistance and is suitable for thermoplastic processing methods such as extrusion processes or injection molding. The new Sanitized® product from the BroadTect portfolio features durable antimicrobial protection that is effective even after weathering. In addition, good antiviral efficacy on surfaces has been demonstrated.

Diab selects SABIC’s new LNP COLORCOMP compound to enhance foams for the core of wind turbine blades

Diab’s Divinycell PY PET foam core series featuring SABIC’s new LNP™ COLORCOMP™ compound can help designers create new, longer blades addressing stringent standards for precision, weight and consistent quality.
(Photo courtesy of Diab)Diab Group, a world leader in sandwich composite solutions, chose SABIC’s new LNP COLORCOMP compound using nano technology to reduce weight and improve mechanical properties of sandwich structures with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) foams, which are used as the core material of wind turbine blades. The Swedish converter selected the breakthrough SABIC compound over standard nucleators for production of its Divinycell PY PET foam core series. By reducing the foam’s cell size by a factor of up to two, while maintaining the same density and decreasing the cell size dispersity, LNP COLORCOMP compound helps enable the final part to be lighter and more efficient in use. These improvements to the core foam material can help designers create new, longer blades that address increasingly stringent standards for precision, weight and consistent quality, and contribute to greater overall energy generation.
