Bioethanol made from agricultural residues used for the first time in cleaning agents
Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, in cooperation with Werner & Mertz, the producer of Frosch® products, has launched a project which expands the possible applications of bioethanol made from agricultural residues such as straw to detergents, cleansers and cleaning agents. sunliquid® bioethanol has been used in Frosch® Bio-Spirit Multisurface-Cleaner since the beginning of the year. As part of this, Clariant supplied the cellulosic ethanol, also called bio spirit, at the end of 2015 from its pre-commercial plant in Straubing, where up to 1 000 tons of cellulosic ethanol are produced annually using the sunliquid® process.

Clariant to Expand Global Manufacturing of Masterbatches for Engineering and High-Temperature Resins
Muttenz, February 18, 2016 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announced plans to invest more than CHF 7.5 million in specialized equipment and facilities to expand the capabilities and capacities for the production of color and additive masterbatches for use in engineering resins and high-temperature plastics like PEEK (polyether ether ketone). The largest investment has been earmarked for plants in Shanghai, Singapore, and at two plants in the U.S.A.

AbuDhabi Police Sign Agreement with Belden to Secure Future Networking Solutions
Venlo, The Netherlands - February 17, 2016 - Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, has announced that it has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with AbuDhabi Police (ADP). Under the terms of the agreement, which was signed by Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, Belden is to supply network equipment services for ADP and explore new opportunities for possible service partnerships.

Henkel to showcase latest coating & lubricant advances at Wire Düsseldorf 2016
At the April 4-8 Wire Düsseldorf 2016 show, Henkel will introduce new formulations for some of its leading processes and technologies, including the Bonderite L-FM FL one-step polymer coating process for automotive components and screws, and Bonderite L-FG process lubricant for hot metal forming.
Lubrication solutions for automotive suppliers and tube manufacturers will be presented on the Henkel Adhesive Technologies stand (Hall 11, booth B73) at Wire Düsseldorf 2016, the international wire and cable trade show in Germany.

SABIC’s arbeidsvoorwaarden in België beloond met derde top Employer Award op rij
Genk - België, 17 februari, 2016 - Op 16 februari 2016 kende het Top Employers Institute de Top Employer 2016 Award toe aan petrochemiebedrijf SABIC voor diens goede arbeidsvoorwaarden in België. Clariant significantly improves cash flow and for the 7th consecutive year increases margins
“Despite the challenging economic environment throughout the year, we continued to improve our performance again and have shown resilience,” said CEO Hariolf Kottmann. “Clariant has significantly improved its cash flow and expanded its EBITDA margin on the back of a good performance of the Business Areas Care Chemicals, Catalysis and Natural Resources. With this positive development we have been able to offset the negative impact of the stronger Swiss franc and deliver a net result comparable to 2014. For 2016, in spite of the economic environment anticipated to become even more demanding, we want to further progress in profitability and cash flow generation by continuously launching new innovative solutions particularly in our higher margin Business Areas.”
