GE - Plastics y GE - Advanced Materials (Silicones) refuerzan su compromiso con los clientes del sector sanitario mediante inversiones en instalaciones, servicios y productos
BERGEN OP ZOOM, HOLANDA — 8 de noviembre de 2005 — GE - Plastics y GE - Advanced Materials (Silicones) explicarán sus recientes inversiones en tecnología y competencias y exhibirán sus últimas innovaciones para los fabricantes de dispositivos médicos en el salón Medica, que tendrá lugar en Düsseldorf (Alemania) del 16 al 19 de noviembre. En el pabellón 10, stand A56, las dos divisiones de GE presentarán algunos de los innovadores productos que sus clientes han fabricado con resinas y siliconas de GE, como la grapadora quirúrgica subcuticular INSORB®|20 y el sistema de alimentación entérica de Zevex International. Se presentarán también dos nuevos tipos de la resina de policarbonato (PC) Lexan*.

NatureWorks LLC anuncia el programa norteamericano «Recompra» de botellas postconsumo fabricadas con NatureWorks® PLA
NatureWorks LLC ha anunciado hoy en el congreso «National Recycling Convention», celebrado en Minneapolis, Minnesota, sus planes de instituir en América del Norte un programa de «recompra» para grandes volúmenes de botellas de PLA postconsumo en los canales de reciclaje de residuos plásticos mixtos. Este programa supone una opción más de evitar la eliminación en vertederos para NatureWorks® PLA, un material que ofrece ya más alternativas de eliminación de residuos distintas al vertedero que cualquier otro plástico.

GE’s ecomagination* Initiative and Lexan* ZigZag* Sheet Roofing Help the Dutch Greenhouse Industry Move Toward Energy Independence
BERGEN OP ZOOM, THE NETHERLANDS — November 15, 2005 — To support a strategic shift away from consuming large amounts of fossil fuel, the greenhouse industry in the Netherlands is turning to GE’s ecomagination* initiative for innovative environmental solutions. Using GE’s new Lexan* ZigZag* sheet polycarbonate (PC) roofing material, Hydro Huisman, a leading hydroculture company in Huissen, is constructing the first greenhouse that will produce more energy than it uses. Lexan ZigZag sheet double-wall roofing panels provide higher light transmission than single glass, and insulation similar to multiwall glass or PC sheet. These energy-efficient properties will enable approximately two-thirds of the heat generated in the greenhouse to be sold as surplus.
