DSM further expands US production capacity for Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber
DSM, the largest manufacturer of high performance polyethylene (HPPE) fiber in the world, today announces its decision to make another investment in a new production line for Dyneema® fiber in Greenville, North Carolina (USA). It is the third announcement this year of new Dyneema® fiber production lines at DSM’s Greenville site, following earlier decisions to build two additional fiber lines and one Dyneema® UD (UniDirectional bullet resistant sheet) line.

GE breidt het aanbod van haar Global Application Technology Center uit door de installatie van speciale apparatuur voor het spuitgieten en thermovormen van grote delen
BERGEN OP ZOOM, NEDERLAND — 13 december 2005 — Tijdens het open huis van 7 december jl., heeft GE - Plastics een belangrijke nieuwe uitbreiding van het aanbod aan mogelijkheden van haar Global Application Technology Center bekend gemaakt. Met de installatie van deze speciale apparatuur wordt de ontwikkeling mogelijk van nieuwe materialen voor grote delen zoals autopanelen en beglazing voor de automobielindustrie. De investering in een geavanceerde Krauss-Maffei 2700 MX spuitgietmachine met injectiecompressie mogelijkheden, maakt het mogelijk voor GE om nog beter in te spelen op de behoefte van de klanten naar lichtere materialen en meer flexibiliteit in het ontwerpen van grote delen. De KM2700 is de nieuwste uitbreiding van de technologische mogelijkheden en diensten – variërend van ontwerp tot productie tot analyse – die worden aangeboden via de zes Centers of Excellence binnen het Global Application Technology Center. Naast de Krauss-Maffei spuitgietmachine is GE van plan om begin 2006 ook een nieuwe thermovormmachine met dubbele sheet vorming capaciteit voor het vormen van holle delen te installeren in de vestiging in Bergen op Zoom.
