Clariant to open new production facility in Dayabay, China
Hong Kong, September 15, 2009 - Leading specialty chemical company Clariant today announced it will build an ethoxylation plant in Dayabay, situated south of Guangzhou. The plant will be operational in early 2011 and will enable Clariant to meet increasing demand from the Chinese and wider Asian markets.

HIGH PERFORMANCE OFFSHORE APPLICATIONS BASED ON NEW FLUOROSINT® ENHANCED PTFE GRADES FROM QUADRANT DEMONSTRATED AT OFFSHORE EUROPE 2009
Quadrant’s range of enhanced PTFE materials available in full production sizes has been broadened with the addition of two new grades: Fluorosint HPV and Fluorosint MT-01. Fluorosint HPV, especially developed for highly demanding oil & gas applications, is a mica-filled high performance bearing grade that can deliver a pressure velocity (PV) performance improvement of more than 40 % over other PTFE materials according to in-house tests conducted by Quadrant. Parts made of Fluorosint HPV can withstand higher load and velocity while delivering better wear resistance, enabling longer part life compared to existing PTFE-based materials. The product was especially developed to meet the demands of high performance bearing applications where other, low-tech PTFE formulations would exhibit premature wear or can not perform. These characteristics open up interesting new options for engineers and manufacturers.

QUADRANT ESTENDE LA GAMMA AVANZATA FLUOROSINT® CON NUOVE VERSIONI AD ALTA TEMPERATURA ED APPROVATI FDA
La gamma avanzata dei prodotti Fluorosint PTFE disponibili in diverse dimensioni, si è ampliata con l’aggiunta di due nuovi materiali: Fluorosint HPV e il Fluorosint MT-01. Il Fluorosint HPV, che è approvato FDA, è un materiale dalle alte prestazioni contente mica che può migliorare le prestazioni del prodotto “pressione velocità” (PV) per oltre il 40% rispetto ad altri materiali PTFE secondo i test condotti nei laboratori Quadrant. I particolari prodotti in Fluorosint HPV possono sopportare un maggiore velocità e carico e nello stesso tempo hanno maggiore resistenza all’usura, permettendo una maggiore longevità del particolare rispetto ai prodotti a base PFTE certificati FDA. Il prodotto è stato specificatamente sviluppato per rispondere alle esigenze di migliori prestazioni sulle applicazioni relative ai cuscinetti dove altri materiali PTFE, presentano una prematura usura o non sono adatti. Queste caratteristiche combinate con l’omologazione FDA per alimenti e applicazioni farmaceutiche apre nuove interessanti opzioni per ingegneri e produttori di macchine.
