BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi – 29 maggio 2008 – Vista la richiesta dei consumatori di ottenere maggiore potenza e funzionalità in campo elettronico, il settore dei semiconduttori si sta impegnando per dotare gli esistenti circuiti integrati (IC) o “chip” di maggiore funzionalità. La nuova generazione di produzione di chip consiste in un processo fotolitografico che utilizza la tecnologia laser al fluoruro di argon (ArF).L’adozione di laser ArF è stata tuttavia ritardata per la mancanza di materie plastiche sufficientemente “pulite” che potessero essere utilizzate nei contenitori di protezione (fotomaschere e reticoli) per il processo di produzione IC. Per far fronte a questa sfida e soddisfare le esigenze dei clienti, l’azienda SABIC Innovative Plastics’ LNP* Specialty Compounds ha sviluppato i composti Ultra-Pure Transparent (UPT) Stat-Loy* della serie 63000CT. Qualora vengano usati nei dispositivi di protezione dei wafer, i composti UPT Stat-Loy sono in grado di prevenire i danni causati dal degassamento che potrebbe contaminare i wafer stessi, e di conseguenza aumentare gli scarti e far salire i costi.
