The Glass Polymer™ from Eastman for Plastohm
Plastohm Group’s Packaging Division, a European leader in plastic packaging solutions, has selected The Glass Polymer™ from Eastman for a new high-end, thick-walled bottle designed to appeal to the senses of the user and set to complete its range of bottles for beauty and healthcare applications. Still in the prototyping phase, Plastohm’s new SENSO INTENSE 50 ml container is intended to enhance the company’s high-end SENSO range of containers.

New plastics compound breaks the transmission path of diseases
A wide range of durable products for use in public institutions and the home can now be made in a Polygiene™ a high-quality plastic compound proven to kill the SARS corona virus as well as a wide range of bacteria, yeasts and molds. Polygiene is also effective against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, or MRSA. Better known as the ‘superbug,’ MRSA has claimed numerous victims in hospitals in Europe and North America.
Eastman Chemical Company has launched its new apothecary colour series of plastic bottles. Made from Eastman’s The Glass Polymer™, the bottles provide superb clarity and gloss - often only achieved with glass - and are available for personal care and cosmetic brand owners in six different “retro-inspired” colours.
Euroform AB (Tranås, SE) reduced injection moulding cycle times by 33% in the production of a steering wheel for an industrial lift-truck, and gained 49% better productivity after switching from a conventional polyamide 6 (PA6) to Akulon® Ultraflow® PA6 from DSM Engineering Plastics.
