Burgdorf/CH, le 26 août 2021: Dans une étude clinique qui a duré plusieurs mois, l'efficacité des surfaces traitées antimicrobiennes contre les agents pathogènes hospitaliers a été examinée dans des conditions réelles à l'hôpital universitaire de Bâle en Suisse. L'équipe de recherche, dirigée par le Prof. Dr. Andreas Widmer et le Dr. R. Frei, a confirmé que le film adhésif PURE ZONE® de HEXIS S.A.S. traité Sanitized® développé conjointement a 98 % d'efficacité contre les microbes. Les résultats ont été publiés pour la première fois dans la revue scientifique à comité de lecture « Antimicrobial Resistance & Infection Control ». L'étude a été soutenue par Innosuisse, l'agence suisse de l'innovation.

La Cour d’appel pour les marques de commerce de l’Union européenne (UE) réaffirme la décision d’autoriser CoorsTek à fabriquer et commercialiser des composants de prothèses de hanche implantables en céramique « rose »
CoorsTek, l’un des principaux fabricants mondiaux de produits en céramique technique, a annoncé la décision de la Cour d’appel de Paris pour les marques de l’UE de maintenir la précédente décision du Tribunal de grande instance de Paris pour les marques de l’UE. Cette décision soutient la capacité de la société à fabriquer et à commercialiser ses composants de prothèses de hanche en céramique « rose » CeraSurf®-p. Elle représente la dernière décision rendue à l’encontre de CeramTec GmbH dans le cadre de la poursuite intentée en 2013 par CeramTec. Ce dernier avançait que le développement et la commercialisation par CoorsTek des composants CeraSurf®-p à usage orthopédique constituaient une violation directe des demandes d’enregistrement de marques de CeramTec, non validées par l’Union européenne, concernant des composants de prothèses de hanche en céramique rose.

Clariant acquires remaining 70% in Brazilian Personal Care specialty company Beraca to seize full control
Clariant, a focused, sustainable and innovative specialty chemicals company, has signed an agreement to acquire the remaining 70% in Brazilian Personal Care Specialties company Beraca from the founding Sabará family. Clariant has held a 30% stake in the company since 2015. The purchase price will not be disclosed. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in Q4 2021.

SABIC launches NORYL™ polyol for cast polyurethanes, simultaneously increasing hardness and elasticity to help extend the life of industrial applications
SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, today introduced NORYL™ AP2001G polyol for cast polyurethane (PU) applications. By partially replacing polypropylene glycol (PPG) or polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMG), this oligomer of polyphenylene ether (PPE) improves the performance of cast PU systems by increasing both hardness and elasticity – properties that have been difficult to improve simultaneously until now. In addition, NORYL AP2001G polyol provides resistance to oils, moisture, abrasion, tearing and heat, helping cast PU parts withstand extreme conditions and potentially lengthen their useful life. Potential applications include mining drill bits, screens and protective pipe liners for slurry transport; components for hydraulic, robotic and conveying equipment; and wheels, casters and rollers.
