Global PR Network Increases Presence in Africa
Eurocom Worldwide, the Global PR Network, is expanding its global presence through a new regional network arrangement in Sub-Saharan Africa, significantly increasing the network’s market presence in the African continent. Eurocom Worldwide already operates successful regional networks in Latin America, Asia, and Europe.

La résine légère et résistante Ultem* de SABIC remplace le métal dans les montures des nouvelles lunettes élégantes Zoff SMART d'Intermestic.
BERGEN OP ZOOM, Pays-Bas – 21 mars 2012 – Démontrant une nouvelle fois son savoir-faire technologique et son expertise, la division Innovative Plastics de SABIC a annoncé aujourd'hui qu'Intermestic Inc., un revendeur spécialisé dans les montures de lunettes et les accessoires, a choisi la résine légère et résistante polyétherimide (PEI) Ultem* pour les montures de sa nouvelle gamme de lunettes Zoff SMART. La résine Ultem utilisée dans des domaines de haute technologie tels que l’aérospatiale et fabriquée sur mesure permet de répondre aux attentes des clients japonais qui veulent que les lunettes adoptent un style nouveau et moderne tout en étant fiables sur le long terme et légères comme une plume. En effet, cette résine permet à Intermestic de substituer le titane et l'aluminium du processus de sélection des matériaux. La résine Ultem offre également une incroyable flexibilité, une résistance à la flamme et une résistance aux produits chimiques, à la chaleur et aux ultraviolets (UV), ainsi qu'une liberté de conception beaucoup plus grande, ce qui a permis à Intermestic de fabriquer des montures élégantes qui répondent aux attentes de clients à la recherche de produits sophistiqués. Le succès de la nouvelle gamme de lunettes Zoff SMART est la preuve que SABIC poursuit ses efforts afin d’améliorer la technologie, les applications et les solutions afin de contribuer à la réussite de ses clients.

Compact design and minimum cabling
Belden has added six new Fast Ethernet switches to the OCTOPUS range from its Hirschmann™ product series. Thanks to an integrated power supply unit these switches take up less space than designs with an external power supply and also require less cabling, which reduces possible error sources and thus increases the operational reliability of the connected terminal equipment. Three of the switches are unmanaged 10-port devices. The others have nine ports and feature layer 2 basic software from Hirschmann™, incorporating a variety of management and security functions and fast redundancy methods. Both the 9-port and the 10-port switches are available with or without PoE functionality and either a 24V or 110V power supply unit. The PoE versions are fanless with additional cooling fins, which provide effective temperature management resulting in longer lifecycles. All six switches have robust, compact die-cast zinc housings and are designed to operate at temperatures in the range -40°C to +70°C. They also fulfill the EMC and fireproofing requirements of the European standards that govern use in rail vehicles.

Maximum security thanks to high fire protection classes
The new railway connectors from Belden's Lumberg Automation™ product program have been specially designed for use in trains. Complying with all international railway standards and stringent fire protection requirements including Hazard Level 2, these connectors provide maximum security and can be used in all parts of the world. Offering vibration-proof M12 connection technology, industry protection class IP67 and a wide temperature range of -40° to +90° C, they are capable of withstanding the harshest environmental conditions. Simple to install, the connectors are offered as molded ProfiNet or field-attachable versions. Individual lengths of cable are optionally available for the field-attachable connectors. This choice of versions means they can be employed in a wide range of solutions. Possible applications include the networking of control modules for doors and air conditioning in trains. The shielded railway connectors can also be used in combination with IP cameras or infotainment systems.

LE MODÈLE RETENU POUR LE CASQUE DE COMBAT AMÉLIORÉ (ECH) DE CERADYNE UTILISE LES HAUTES PERFORMANCES BALISTIQUES DU COMPOSITE UNIDIRECTIONNEL (UD) HB80 DE DSM DYNEEMA
STANLEY, N.C. 15 mars 2012 - Dans un communiqué daté de ce jour, DSM Dyneema annonce que son composite unidirectionnel (UD) Dyneema® HB80 - actuellement l’un des meilleurs matériaux UD balistiques du marché - a joué un rôle central dans le développement du nouveau casque de combat amélioré (« Enhanced Combat Helmet » ou ECH) destiné au corps des Marines et à l’Armée de terre des États-Unis. Pour mener à bien ce développement, la société Ceradyne a opté pour le Dyneema® HB80 comme le matériau apportant le plus haut niveau de protection balistique à l’ECH. Par rapport au casque de combat avancé (« Advanced Combat Helmet » ou ACH) en fibres aramides utilisé jusqu’ici, l’ECH en Dyneema® HB80 surpasse le cahier des charges ECH en termes de comportement à la fragmentation, sans augmentation de poids du casque. Le HB80 est aussi le seul matériau à avoir satisfait à toutes les exigences des tests ECH.
