Rhodia constructs new Polymerization Unit in South Korea
Paris, April 19 2006 – Rhodia has announced the construction of a polymerization unit on its integrated production platform in Onsan (South Korea). With an annual capacity of 48,000 tonnes, the unit will start polyamide production at the end of 2007. The new unit, representing an investment of almost euro 40 million, is aimed at further strengthening Rhodia’s market position. Rhodia is the world’s second largest polyamide producer and the front-ranked player in the Asian polyamide 6.6 market.

GE Plastics instala un termoconformador de dos capas en el centro de Global Application Technology (GApT) en Bergen op Zoom, Países Bajos
BERGEN OP ZOOM, PAÍSES BAJOS, 16 de mayo de 2006. GE Plastics continúa con sus inversiones en Global Application Technology (GApT) en Europa con la instalación de un termoconformador de dos capas con capacidad de termoconformado hidráulico a alta presión, que entrará en servicio en abril de 2006. Una segunda inversión consiste en una máquina de moldeo por inyección 2K de 1.600 toneladas, que se instalará en el último trimestre de 2006 en el Centro de excelencia de Bergen op Zoom, en los Países Bajos.

WABASH TRANSMISSION SENSOR RELIES ON STANYL® FOR HIGH HEAT RESISTANCE
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (April 10, 2006) Wabash Technologies selected Stanyl® for the transmission sensor used on heavy-duty full size and commercial trucks. Stanyl TW200F8 (40% glass reinforced polyamide 46) is used for the main body of the sensor and Stanyl TW271F6 (30% glass reinforced polyamide 46) is used for the rotor.

Competitive Intelligence In Action
The European Chemical Marketing & Strategy Association (ECMSA), EMP Intelligence Services and CIBT are joining forces in May to present a management briefing and workshop in Amsterdam on the changed European competitive intelligence scene. The briefing and workshop mirrors a successful event held in Birmingham, the UK, in September 2005. They are designed to help participants understand in greater detail the complex competitive background to the European chemical industry that involves regional players, global integrators and competitors from emerging markets. Chemical companies are often competing for share in markets in which growth is low or negligible and in which accurate competitive intelligence is vitally important.
