DSM Engineering Plastics anuncia la disponibilidad de un nuevo grado de Stanyl®, poliamida 46 de gran fluidez, para piezas de motores de aviones a reacción. Se trata de un compuesto reforzado con un 30% de fibra de vidrio destinado inicialmente a la etapa de admisión del motor Rolls-RoyceTrent 900. Este motor tiene 50 paneles de intrincada geometría que junto con la compleja sección del conducto reducen el ruido y el impacto ambiental. Estas piezas se pueden fabricar gracias a la gran resistencia y moldeabilidad del Stanyl.

Just Cavalli: Glass Polymer™ helps create high tech perfume packaging
G. Candiani of Italy has selected The Glass Polymer™ from Eastman Chemical Company to help produce the bottle for Just Cavalli, a new Roberto Cavalli fragrance. The transparent bottle is made up from different fully integrated parts: a glass core, a resin shoulder and a protective housing made from Eastar® AN014 copolyester.

Univar named as distributor for Shell solvents in Denmark, Norway and Sweden
Univar Europe, a business unit of Univar N.V., the leading independent chemical distributor in the world, has been appointed by Shell Chemicals Europe B.V. (SCE) as distributor of their solvents range in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The agreement took effect April 1st of this year. Univar’s strong distribution and logistics network in Scandinavia underpinned Shell’s decision, as did the opportunity to make its supply chain simpler and more efficient.
