RB206MO de Borealis
Una opción estupenda para botellas moldeadas por soplado en aplicaciones de llenado en caliente
El RB206MO es un nuevo grado de polipropileno (PP) aleatorio que viene a reforzar la posición de Borealis como uno de los principales fabricantes de aplicaciones para botellas de altas prestaciones. Soporta temperaturas de llenado en caliente de hasta100 °C sin que la forma de la botella sufra deformaciones permanentes. El RB206MO mantiene una rigidez excelente incluso a temperaturas elevadas, lo que significa que permite una alta productividad de las líneas de llenado en caliente. Otra característica del RB206MO es que, gracias a su gran rigidez, el peso de la botella se puede reducir, lo que permite un ahorro en los costes de material y transporte. La mayor resistencia térmica del extraordinario paquete de aditivos utilizado en el RB206MO se traduce en una necesidad menor de limpiar los canales de aireación, las superficies de molde, la hilera y el mandril estacionario. Como es fácil de extruir y posee unas prestaciones de carga muy elevadas, así como una nucleación muy buena, el RB206MO es sumamente apropiado para cadenas de producción de altas prestaciones, donde también ofrece un ahorro importante de materiales en las botellas multicapa.

Acquisition gives Vyncolit an increased presence in USA
The Perstorp Group has announced its purchase of the Moldable Composites Division of Rogers Corporation, a US-based producer of high performance mouldable phenolic composites principally supplied to the automotive and electrical industries. The Moldable Composites Division has annual sales of approximately USD 35 million and about 150 employees.

Univar Names President for European Operations
Amsterdam, The Netherlands – October 25, 2002 – Univar N.V., a global leader in chemical distribution, has appointed John Phillpotts to be President of its European business unit, Univar Europe. Univar Europe is the second largest chemical distributor in Europe, with operations in 14 countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, the Nordic, Italy and the Iberian Peninsula. Univar also has significant positions in the European market in polymers and food ingredient distribution.

Anstead International moves into purpose-built state-of-the-art facilities in Basildon, UK
Anstead International has moved from its long-established centre at Billericay to new, purpose-built 25,000 ft2 (2,325 m2) state-of-the-art headquarters and temperature-controlled warehousing with computerised product location handling at Basildon, Essex, UK. The new facilities operate to the latest ISO 2000/ PS 9100 standards and include new laboratories where product testing is conducted according to industry and customer specifications and following strict procedures, to meet the highest standards for raw materials.

SONOCO PURCHASES WOOD REEL OPERATIONS
Hartsville, SC -- Sonoco (NYSE:SON) today announced the purchase of Texas Reel Company’s plywood reel operations, Sherman, Texas, and Coonrod Reel Company’s nailed wood reel operation in Bohman, Texas, it was announced today by Charles W. Reid, division vice president and general manager, Sonoco Baker® Reels. Annual sales from these acquisitions in 2002 are expected to be approximately $10 million. The purchase price was not revealed.

Rapid Granulator AB opens Italian sales office
Since 1 October 2002 Rapid Granulator AB has strengthened its presence in the Italian market with opening of Rapid S.r.l. in the Venice area. This new subsidiary is run by Mr. Fabio Bello, who has a long experience in the plastics machinery market. The Italian office is Rapids fifth subsidiary. In addition to its Swedish headquarters the company has sales offices in Osaka, Japan; Rockford, Illinois, USA; Paris, France; and Kleinostheim, Germany.
