FDA Approval for Total Circular Compounds® Containing Recycled HDPE
The US Food and Drug Administration has determined that Total’s secondary recycling process at its Antwerp Belgium site for the production of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Circular Compounds is effective in reducing contaminants from Post-Consumer Recycled HDPE (PCR-HDPE) material to an extent which allows for its use in food packaging.

TE Connectivity feiert 75 Jahre PIDG-Kabelschuhe und -Kabelverbinder
DARMSTADT, Deutschland – 16. April 2018 – TE Connectivity (TE), ein weltweit führender Anbieter von Verbindungstechnologie- und Sensorlösungen, feiert 75 Jahre Produktion der PIDG (Pre-Insulated Diamond Grip)-Kabelschuhe und -Kabelverbinder. TEs Vorgängunternhemen AMP begann 1943 mit der Herstellung von PIDG-Produkten, nachdem der Firmengründer Uncas A. Whitaker eine bahnbrechende Hülse für die Isolationsunterstützung entwickelt hatte, die bei hoher Belastung eine bessere Anschlussleistung bietet. PIDG wurde zum bevorzugten Kabelschuh für Luft- und Raumfahrthersteller und verbreitete sich schnell auch in andere Branchen. PIDG wird in den meisten gefertigten Produkten eingesetzt, in denen Drähte und Kabel verwendet werden, beispielsweise in Schaltschränken, Stromversorgungen, Transportausrüstung und Geräten. Die zig Millionen PIDG-Kabelschuhe, die noch Jahrzehnte nach der Installation im Einsatz sind, belegen die strengen Tests und Untersuchungen, die bei ihrer Entwicklung und Herstellung vorgenommen wurden.
