BELDEN COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF LUMBERG AUTOMATION COMPONENTS
Germany based industrial connector company will expand Belden’s position as a leader in industrial connectivity solutions for factory automation.
St. Louis, Missouri – Belden (NYSE:BDC), a world leader in the development of signal transmission solutions, has completed purchase of the assets of Lumberg Automation Components from The Lumberg Group for an undisclosed cash price. Lumberg Automation is a leading supplier of industrial connectors, high performance cord-sets and field bus communication components for factory automation machinery. The company’s 2006 revenues were approximately $75 million.

Borealis announces R$18 million investment in Brazil
Borealis, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, will invest R$ 18 million in the acquisition of a new extrusion line to enlarge its Itatiba (SP) plant. Borealis has two production units in Brazil located in Itatiba (SP) and Triunfo (RS). The investment, which will serve the automotive and appliances markets, will increase the polypropylene (PP) compounding capacity of the plant by 11,000 tonnes per annum and is due for completion in mid-2008.

Deutsche Fahrer loben freundlichen Unfallmanagement-Service von Nobilas
Hoofddorp, Niederlande, 1. Mai 2007– Nach einer Umfrage zur Kundenzufriedenheit unter Fahrzeugführern in Deutschland würde die überwiegende Mehrheit (94 %) der Befragten den Service von Nobilas weiterempfehlen, meldet Nobilas Claims & Fleet Solutions, das auf Unfallmanagement spezialisierte Unternehmen von Akzo Nobel. Die Teilnehmer der Umfrage unterstrichen vor allem die Freundlichkeit der Service-Mitarbeiter hervor, dank der sich die Abwicklung angenehmer gestaltet. Auch der Hol- und Bringdienst und die ergänzende Bereitstellung eines Ersatzfahrzeugs wurden positiv bewertet.
„Wir wollen den Prozess der Unfall- und Schadensabwicklung so schnell, einfach und kundenfreundlich wie möglich gestalten, und ein wichtiger Faktor dabei ist das Personal der Reparaturbetriebe, das die Sprache des Kunden spricht,“ sagt Thomas Geiger, Geschäftsführer Nobilas Deutschland, Österreich und Schweiz. „Wir legen hohe Maßstäbe an das Netz unserer Vertragswerkstätten, einschließlich Mitarbeiterschulung zur verständlichen Erklärung technischer Begriffe.“

PPG Builds up a New Plant in Wuhu, Chery Collaborates with Another Fortune 500 Company
As a Chinese leading automobile manufacturer, with the strong trend of 100,000 vehicles increase in two consecutive years, Chery attracts a large number of international automobile suppliers. Following Johnson Controls, another fortune 500 company PPG Industries is “eying” at Chery. Recently, PPG Industries held a grand project launching ceremony of its new plant in Wuhu, Anhui Province. The new plant will be the 8th manufacturing base of PPG in China built to provide Chery with automotive coatings. Before this PPG has successively established seven plants in China mainland including Tianjin, Suzhou, and Zibo and in automotive industry it mainly services Volkswagen, GM, Mercedes Benz, Dongfeng Citroen, Peugeot and Hainan Mazda. This is the first time for PPG to set up a plant for the market of a Chinese brand since it entered China.
