High-Precision Manufacturer Stettler Moves Orders Online with Omnexus
Stettler Kunststoffverarbeitungs GmbH, a key-supplier to the automotive, machinery and computer industries, transferred its ordering process online with its key plastics suppliers in less than one day through Omnexus. Now, Stettler knows in minutes if products are available and ready for delivery with their established plastics suppliers.
“Omnexus has enabled us to transact online without time barriers. Our efficiency levels will increase thanks to the improved response time and flexibility. Our files were quickly set up and connected through Omnexus with the ordering catalogs of our suppliers, and now our transactions are completed in less than a minute. This means a huge time-gain for us. In addition, the 24/7 benefits of the Omnexus platform now let us manage our orders even outside the usually busy working hours. The single-platform solution provided by Omnexus is less complicated than any others we’ve evaluated, since we don’t have to connect to various suppliers’ systems with different and changing requirements. And it only required one training session to begin conducting transactions regularly through Omnexus”, said Matthias Seelman, Projectmanager, Stettler.
Stettler supplies products and services to customers such as Bosch, Valeo and Cherry, requiring swift turnaround and quick access to materials. The company saw the benefits that online procurement could bring to its just-in-time production process, but lacked the Web-based technologies necessary to implement an online ordering system.
Stettler and Omnexus worked together to quickly determine the necessary level of integration for Stettler and find the best solution for the company. Omnexus offers companies varying levels of integration with their suppliers, depending on the company’s size, need and security levels.
Orders through the Omnexus marketplace are managed faster, have better control features for employees working at Stettler and are presented in German, the company’s native business language.
“As more and more companies move their business processes like ordering online, Omnexus is responding quickly with technologies and services to meet their needs. Our project with Stettler shows that the market has been waiting for an efficient, well-organized e-Business platform”, said Oliver Franssen, e-Business Services D A CH, Omnexus.
