(Photo: GE Power Conversion: GEPCPR152)PARIS - March 14, 2013 - GE's Power Conversion business (NYSE: GE) has signed a turnkey contract with the Lindoe Offshore Renewables Center (LORC), a Danish center for test of renewable energy technology, for the construction, commissioning and handover of one of the world's most advanced facilities to test wind turbine nacelles with an output power of up to 10 Megawatts (MW). The Lindoe Nacelle Testing project (LNT) will be located in the Lindø Industrial Park on Funen, Denmark's fourth-largest island. It will be ready for first tests in 2014.

The vessel is one of the newest cruise ships that is part of a growing global electrification trend that replaces mechanical equipment with electrical power generation and propulsion technology. Over the last year passenger vessels have experienced a growth rate of 3.3% with 20.9 million passengers in 2012. The growth forecast for the next five years is projected to be 3% with six new ships being built per year for the next three years.
