SABIC Launches Thermoformable LEXAN™ Sheet for Outstanding Flame-Smoke-Toxicity Performance, Opacity in Aircraft Window Shades
SEATTLE, Washington, September 27, 2012 - To help global aerospace customers comply with increasingly stringent standards for flame-smoke-toxicity (FST) performance of interior aircraft components, SABIC’s Innovative Plastics business today introduced new next-generation LEXAN™ XHR 5000 (extremely low heat release) sheet for aircraft window shades. On display here at the Aircraft Interiors Show in SABIC’s booth #828, LEXAN XHR 5000 sheet is designed for multi-layer window shade systems requiring advanced FST properties and opacity. Not only does this industry-leading solution meet demanding safety requirements, it also helps improve comfort in the cabin environment with a high-quality appearance and enhanced room-darkening properties. SABIC signs research agreement with German research organization to develop advanced technologies into innovative solutions
SITTARD, The Netherlands, June 23, 2012 - The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, a leading German organization for applied research, signed a multiyear agreement in Sittard, the Netherlands, on June 22 to mutually develop advanced technologies into innovative solutions, meeting global needs and demands in societal areas such as light weight construction and renewable energy.

Songwon to cease production of Tin Agrochemicals Songcat™ FENBUTAN and Songcat™ CYTIN
Ulsan, Korea - September 27, 2012 - Songwon Industrial Co., Ltd. will discontinue the manufacture of Tin Agrochemicals at its Ulsan (Korea) facility from January 1, 2013 onwards. The products affected will be raw materials used in the production of Organotin Agrochemicals that prevent disease of mites on apples, pears, grapes and oranges, vegetables and other crops.

DSM invests in Tsing Capital Environment Fund
Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company, has invested in the 4th China Environment Fund of Tsing Capital in China. This is DSM's first venture capital fund investment in Asia. The China Environment Fund is a series of four funds, managed by Hong Kong based Tsing Capital. Financial details of the investment have not been disclosed.
