Transmisión de datos fiable gracias a un blindaje especial
Belden ha añadido nuevos conectores Gigabit Ethernet a su gama de productos Lumberg Automation™. Estos conectores, que soportan velocidades de transmisión de datos de hasta 10 Gbps, tienen un diseño compacto con un blindaje especial que cubre también los pares de cables individuales, garantizando así transmisiones de datos fiables incluso allá donde hay campos electromagnéticos fuertes. Se ofrecen con sistema de conexión M12 o RJ45, y en versiones moldeadas y de autoensamblaje, que, opcionalmente, incluyen largos de cables individuales a fin de ofrecer flexibilidad y puesta en funcionamiento rápida. Otras características que cabe destacar son el robusto diseño, la amplia gama de temperaturas de trabajo (desde -30 °C hasta +90 °C) y, para las versiones M12, la protección industrial clase IP67. Los conectores Gigabit Ethernet facilitan por lo tanto soluciones de alta disponibilidad y económicamente rentables para todo un abanico de aplicaciones, como la conexión de cámaras IP y sistemas de info-ocio para transporte ferroviario (en trámite de homologación conforme a EN 50155) o el cableado de máquinas y sistemas complejos.

Reverdia-joint venture launched
Reverdia, the joint venture between Royal DSM and Roquette Frères, has been formally approved by the relevant regulatory authorities. Reverdia aims to build on its emerging leadership position for bio-based succinic acid through its proprietary production technology and by ensuring reliable supply to meet the evolving market demands. Reverdia combines DSM’s expertise in Materials Sciences, and biotechnology together with Roquette’s know-how in plant-based raw material processing.

24 Fast Ethernet ports plus PoE functionality
With the OCTOPUS 24M-8PoE, Belden has added a new managed IP67 switch to its Hirschmann™ product range. Designed in particular for use in trains and buses, this switch has 24 Fast Ethernet ports (10/100 BASE-TX), 8 of which support PoE. This means that devices such as IP cameras and information displays can be powered via the Ethernet cable. The high number of ports also means that installations can be configured using a smaller number of switches and hence require less space. The OCTOPUS 24M-8PoE can be cascaded as often as required, permitting implementation of networks with a distributed structure and short transmission paths to the respective terminal devices. Redundancy methods such as HIPER Ring, MRP and RSTP bring fast reconfiguration times and ensure a high level of network availability. Other features include waterproof housing, an extended temperature range of -40° C to +70° C, and Ethernet ports with vibration-resistant M12 connection technology. In addition, the switch has received e1 approval from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority and complies with the EMC and fire prevention requirements governing its use in rail vehicles (EN 50155, DIN 5510-2 and NF F 16 101/ 102).
