SABIC to Join Automotive Innovation Joint Venture INPRO

INPRO experimental lab: bonding technologies for body-in-white and powertrain application>BERLIN, Germany – September 7, 2011 – Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) announced in Berlin today that it has entered into an agreement to purchase an equity stake in INPRO, a joint venture dedicated to collaborative innovation in automotive production. SABIC will join Daimler, Siemens, ThyssenKrupp and Volkswagen as equity owners in the group. The Federal State of Berlin has also held shares in INPRO since its founding in 1983. SABIC comes to the JV with 45 years’ experience as a leading industry pioneer in automotive engineering plastics material technologies and application development, primarily through the dedicated automotive division of its Innovative Plastics strategic business unit, and will fully participate in INPRO’s joint innovation projects. (Foto Belden, PR211)Anfang September 2011 haben gleich zwölf Jugendliche am Belden-Standort Neckartenzlingen, wo die Produkte der Marke Hirschmann™ entwickelt und produziert werden, eine Berufsausbildung begonnen. Neun von ihnen werden in den Lehrberufen Elektroniker für Geräte und Systeme, Mechatroniker, Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration und Verfahrensmechaniker ausgebildet. Drei junge Leute absolvieren an der Dualen Hochschule Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart die Studiengänge Angewandte Informatik und Betriebswirtschaftslehre.

Clariant enables Oslo Airport to recycle two-thirds of aircraft de-icer

© “Courtesy of Vestergaard”Muttenz, 13 September 2011 – A new Clariant recycling plant for aircraft de-icer is being inaugurated today at Norway’s Oslo International Airport. In the coming 2011-12 winter, it is expected that the unit will reprocess 60-70% of the aircraft de-icer fluid (ADF) used in Oslo. The recycled product – mono propylene glycol (MPG) – will substitute an estimated 700 metric tonnes per year of virgin material in de-icing and heat transfer applications.

SONGWONUlsan, Korea – September 13, 2011 – Songwon Industrial Group announces that the expansion of its antioxidant capacity from 55.000 to 70.000 tons has been completed ahead of time. This is the result of the consolidation of Songnox® 1076 production into Songwon’s new fully backward integrated Maeam plant. In addition Songwon has announced as a consequence of this expansion the introduction of two enhanced physical forms of Songnox® 1076: Songnox® 1076 SB (semi beads) and Songnox® 1076 CP (crystalline powder).
