Bioplastics can be more colorful, thanks to new masterbatch choices from Clariant
Muttenz, November 3, 2010 - With the addition of a new line of masterbatches that comply with standards governing compostability and ecotoxicity, producers of products and packaging made from biopolymers have a wider range of options in color and performance-enhancing additives. Choices range from masterbatches based on conventional, man-made ingredients to those incorporating all-natural materials drawn from renewable sources like plants. Now an attractive third option has been introduced. These and other color and performance innovations for the plastics industry are on display in Hall 8A, Booth J11 at the K2010 plastics exhibition being held in Dusseldorf, Germany, October 27 to November 3.

Clariant reports strong profitability on solid sales
· Q3 sales up 8% in local currencies, nine month sales up 14% in local currencies.
· Q3 operating income before exceptional items increased 70% to CHF 182 million compared to CHF 107 million year on year.
· Q3 operating income margin before exceptional items reached 10.6% compared to 6.3% a year ago.
· Q3 cash flow from operations amounted to CHF 173 million, driven by strong operating result and sustainable Net Working Capital management, compared to CHF 193 million in the previous year period.

Songwon announces the expansion of its antioxidants capacity
Ulsan, Korea – November 2, 2010 – Songwon Industrial Co. Ltd. announces the expansion of its antioxidants capacity from 55.000 tons to 70.000 tons. The expanded capacity will be on stream from August 2011. The expansion is the result of the consolidation of the Songnox® 1076 production into Songwon’s new fully backwardintegrated Maeam plant.

At K 2010 SABIC Innovative Plastics Reaffirms Environmental Commitment with Expanded Sustainability Portfolio and New Verification Program
