BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands – March 2, 2010 – Rugby and football enthusiasts at Dublin’s new Aviva Stadium may find their attention focused on the structure instead of the score. The stadium’s transparent, curvilinear walls are constructed from SABIC Innovative Plastics’ tough and virtually unbreakable Lexan* Exell D polycarbonate (PC) sheet, which adds incredible elegance, high performance and environmental benefits. Recognizing the strategic contribution of Lexan sheet technology to the stadium, the European Polycarbonate Sheet Extruders (EPSE) honored SABIC Innovative Plastics with its 2009 Best Project and Innovation Award. This is the second EPSE award for SABIC Innovative Plastics. In 2008, the company won the Best Innovation category for the Metro Station Carmes in Toulouse, France – whose roof is also made from Lexan Exell D sheet. SABIC Innovative Plastics continues to invest in new materials like Lexan Exell D sheet to help building and construction customers achieve success.

COPERATION BETWEEN BOZZIO, DSM, BERN UNIVERSITY AND DYNAMIC TEST CENTER BRINGS SAFER MOBILITY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY
The joysteer® X-by-wire system with precision gears made of Stanyl® PA 46 resin from DSM Engineering Plastics is now in commercial production for the handicapped market and available from car modification companies in Switzerland, Germany and the Benelux. This rapid development from prototype to successful commercialisation was achieved by the Swiss company Bozzio within record time of just three years. In this period, Bozzio obtained the strictest level of safety approvals for the European market (TÜV approval according to ECE-R 13H braking system and ECE-R 79 steering system), making joysteer®x-by-wire commercially available to provide people with a disability a user-friendly solution to drive a car with safety and confidence. This is the first system with such a high safety level.

These new Gigabit Ethernet switches, characterized amongst others by fanless (passive) cooling, can be used for connecting workgroups to the backbone in production environments using twisted-pair cables as well as optical fibers. Each of the three versions, designated MACH104-20TX-F, MACH104-20TX-FR and MACH104 TX-F-4PoE, provides 20 RJ45 ports (10/100/1000 BASE-TX) as well as four combination ports (100/1000 BASE-FX) for SFP fiber optic transceivers.

DSM AND MCC SIGN CONTRACTS TO EXCHANGE POLYCARBONATE AND POLYAMIDE BUSINESSES

Jabil Provides Snapshot of the Future with Breakthrough Camera Modules at Mobile World Congress 2010
BARCELONA, Spain – February 22, 2010 – Jabil Circuit, Inc. (NYSE: JBL), one of the world’s largest electronic manufacturing services (EMS) companies and leading vertically integrated mobility solutions provider, announced two important breakthroughs in system-on-chip (SOC) embedded camera technology at Mobile World Congress 2010. These new innovations meet a critical market need by enabling manufacturers to take full advantage of major opportunities at both ends of the mobile device spectrum. The MD6054A, a compact 5 megapixel (MP) SOC camera module with autofocus addresses growing consumer demand for high-end optics in an industry standard 8.5 x 8.5 x 6.0mm package, while the PW3625A, the first 2 megapixel SOC reflowable wafer-level camera module in the world, targets the huge, untapped market for low-cost mobile phones.
