Clariant Oil Services expands business with Chevron-Duri Indonesia
Muttenz, January 15, 2010 - Clariant Oil Services, a business unit of Clariant International Ltd, has signed a “Heavy Oil Services” contract to supply Chevron-Duri in Indonesia with products and services for the Duri steam flood. Steam flooding is an enhanced oil recovery method that injects steam into the reservoir to increase oil recovery. With a production of 200,000 barrels of crude oil each day, the Duri project is the largest steam flood oilfield in the world and the main source of oil production in Indonesia.

Belden has added two new bus coupling and six new I/O modules to its range of Lumberg Automation™ LioN-Link I/O systems. These new products enable users - for the first time – to control electrical drives over Profibus, facilitate networking of intelligent sensors and actors, complete simple retrofitting or upgrading of machines, deliver safety applications and/or decentralize power supply.

ODU Steckverbindungssysteme GmbH, a leading connector manufacturing company in Mühldorf, Germany, has selected high performance Stanyl® ForTii™ from DSM Engineering Plastics for its latest ODU MAC LC (Modular Attachable Connector rectangular – Low Cycle Version), which was developed specifically for PCB – termination without frame. The ODU MAC LC (Low Cycle) series is part of a highly economical modular system, capable of delivering up to 5,000 mating cycles. The application requires a high temperature plastic material suitable for SMT (Surface Mount Technology) soldering and with excellent electrical properties.

T-CONN, one of the major local connector manufacturer in Taiwan, has selected Stanyl® ForTii™ as the halogen-free housing material for its wide range of battery connectors. Stanyl Fortii not only meets the stringent material requirements of SMT soldering technology, it also offers outstanding performance in dimensional stability, full compliance to JEDEC MSL level 2, high toughness and extreme pin retention forces. As a result, Stanyl ForTii leads to a significant reliability improvement versus LCPs (Liquid Crystal Polymers) and to better processing compared to PPAs. Following the approval in battery connectors, T-CONN has started to expand the usage of Stanyl ForTii also to their FPC product line.
