DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS RECOGNIZED FOR LEADING THE INDUSTRY IN GREENING CONSUMER ELECTRONICS
DSM Engineering Plastics has been recognized as a leading solutions provider that supports and enables the electronics industry to move away from chemicals that can lead to health and environmental problems. In a new precedent setting research report “Greening Consumer Electronics: Moving Away from Bromine and Chlorine”, the International Chemical Secretariat (ChemSec) and US based environmental organization Clean Production Action (CPA) identified seven companies who have engineered environmental solutions that negate the need for most - or in some cases all - uses of brominated and chlorinated chemicals. The seven companies include, amongst others, Apple, Sony Ericsson and DSM Engineering Plastics.

DOKASCH LAUNCHES LIGHTWEIGHT, ULTRA DURABLE AIR CARGO CONTAINERS MADE WITH DYNEEMA® AND AERONITE® FROM DSM
URMOND (NL), October 6, 2009 - Following two years of successful flight trials, DoKaSch GmbH, a leading manufacturer of air cargo equipment, today introduced the new AKE lw-65 air cargo containers that are the first to be made with RP10 panels made from advanced composite material technology from DSM. The panels are designed to provide maximum strength at a minimum weight and are both stronger and lighter than traditional aluminum used in cargo containers. This advanced material breakthrough has been enabled through the use of Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber™, and Aeronite® resin from DSM.

BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi – 5 ottobre 2009 – Il 2 ottobre a Lisbona, in Portogallo, si è tenuta l’assemblea generale annuale del Conseil Européen des Fédérations de l'Industrie Chimique1 (Cefic) e, nel corso della cerimonia di apertura, la piattaforma in resina ecocompatibile iQ* di SABIC Innovative Plastics si è aggiudicata il premio Responsible Care® 2009. La società ha ricevuto l’ambito premio nella categoria generale per la resina iQ ecoresponsabile, realizzata tramite un processo brevettato che converte le bottiglie usate di polietilene tereftalato (PET) in resina ad alte prestazioni, da utilizzare per una vasta gamma di applicazioni ad alte prestazioni.
