SABIC Innovative Plastics’ High-Performance Materials Help Domestic Boiler Manufacturers Warm Up Homes, Not the Planet
BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands – April 21, 2009 – To enhance the cost and environmental benefits of wall-hung condensing boilers for residential use, SABIC Innovative Plastics offers high-performance Noryl*, Ultem* and Cycoloy* resins to replace traditional metals such as copper and brass used in boiler components, such as condenser housings and manifolds. These engineering thermoplastics, developed and tested here at the company’s Fluid Engineering Center of Excellence, may enhance design freedom, extend part life, and avoid the use of heavy metals such as lead.

SABIC Innovative Plastics and RheTech Inc. Announce the Purchase of the RheMax Product Line by SABIC Innovative Plastics
BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands – April 17, 2009 – As part of an ongoing effort to reaffirm and further strengthen its long-term commitment to the North American auto industry, SABIC Innovative Plastics today announced its agreement to purchase the RheMax product line from RheTech, Inc., of Whitmore Lake, Mich. Under the terms of agreement, RheTech will be the toll manufacturer of SABIC Innovative Plastics’ STAMAX* LGFPP (long glass fiber-filled polypropylene) resins, which were launched in North America in September 2008. This purchase enables SABIC Innovative Plastics to immediately fulfill North American automotive OEM and tier product needs from local production.

AKULON® PA6 DELIVERS PRODUCTIVITY GAINS IN OIL SUMP APPLICATIONS
DSM Engineering Plastics has announced that Akulon PA6 resin has been selected by various OEMs and Tiers for various applications and feasibility studies for oil sumps and oil pans use in under-the-hood. Currently various engine and road tests are ongoing. Final design validation of Akulon PA6 in the oil sumps and oil pans is expected for the end of 2009.

Like other Hirschmann products, EAGLE20 is based on the proven VxWorks real-time operating system. The new industrial firewall meets all requirements for operating as a security router, including Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) Firewall, Packet Filter Rules and a VPN Server.
